Our “Paws” Cause
The Roselle American Legion Riders are supporters of the Kneads program. This program offers assistance for Dogs for Deaf & Disabled Americans. Our annual Luau/Pig Roast is one of our fund raisers for Neads. In 2009 we were able to sponsor 2 puppies for Neads. We also sold tickets to vote on 2 names for the puppies. The winning names are Rosie & Chopper. Please let me introduce one of our newest “Paws” members, Chopper. At this writing (5/20/2010) he is 9 weeks old and is missing his tail. Chopper is at the Laura J. Niles Early Learning Center (puppy house) on the NEADS campus. As you can see, he is very tiny but he does play well with all the other pups. While he is at puppy house, he will elarn basic obedience as well as some simple tasks. Go Chopper!
We will post a picture of Rider as soon as it is available. This is a great program that makes a huge difference in many Americans lives. Thank You to all our Legion family & friends for your help & support of this program. We are always accepting donations for Neads. For more information, please contact a Legion Rider member, or visit the Neads website, http://www.neads.org
